(ReggaeVibeMedia.com) – It was reported by Jamaica’s Loop News “Dancehall group T.O.K is setting an example for their peers, by omitting divisive songs, such as ‘Chi Chi Man’ from their performances.”
The trio didn’t sing “Chi Chi Man,” one of their most well-known songs, during the recent Reggae On The Beach festival in Barbados on May 1. By doing so, they made a statement about their commitment to building unity rather than division.
One member of the Dancehall group T.O.K. has reportedly distanced himself from Roshaun ‘Bay C’ Clarke’s claim that the group had “made a decision to not perform” their hit song Chi Chi Man in order to not “offend” any of its fans.
In an interview with the Loop the recently reunited group had this to say: “Basically ‘Chi Chi Man’ is like a gift and a curse. It’s a great record that means so much to so many people from just the love of the music, but for some people it’s offensive as well. And because we feel like the music should really unite people, we’ve made a decision to not perform the song, because we don’t want to offend any of our fans,” Roshaun ‘Bay C’ Clarke said on behalf of the recently reunited group”.
Recently Craigy T came forward with a response on his official social media outlet. It’s very well crafted how he goes into explaining why he doesn’t respect all peoples sexual orientation. Take a look and listen clearly to the actual facts.
