Rita Marley makes her first appearance in two years

Rita Marley the widow of reggae legend Bob Marley and I-Threes singer recently made her first public appearance (in a wheelchair) since experiencing a stroke over two years ago.
The occasion was the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) Awards ceremony celebrating Reggae’s 50 years legacy which were held Tuesday, March 5, 2019.
Rita was in attendance to represent the Rita Marley Foundation. In 2013 the foundation established an annual essay competition for high-school students. This year, secondary-school students will be able to submit entries for the first songwriting competition.
