Vybz Kartel Set to Ignite Brooklyn: First U.S. Shows in Over Two Decades

Written by on March 8, 2025

(ReggaeVibeMedia.com) – Dancehall aficionados are buzzing with excitement as Vybz Kartel, the genre’s iconic figure, announces his return to the U.S. stage after more than 20 years. The “Worl’ Boss” is slated to headline two monumental concerts at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 11 and 12, 2025.

This announcement follows the recent reinstatement of Kartel’s U.S. and UK visas in January, a development that has reignited his international performance career. Expressing his enthusiasm, Kartel stated, “To be back on U.S. soil performing for my fans is a blessing that I don’t take lightly. The wait is finally over. New York, get ready.”

The demand for his performance was so overwhelming that a second show was promptly added. CJ Milan, CEO and Founder of Reggae Fest, the event’s presenter, remarked, “This is going to be the biggest dancehall concert in U.S. history. To be at Barclays Center with the biggest dancehall artist in the world is epic! It’s about time dancehall gets the recognition it deserves.”

Kartel’s return to the U.S. stage is part of a broader resurgence in his career. In February 2025, he attended the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, marking his first U.S. appearance in over two decades, where he was nominated for Best New Reggae Album. He also made a notable appearance at the MOBO Awards in England, receiving the Impact Award and delivering a performance that included hits like “Fever” and “Clarks.”

Tickets for the Barclays Center shows went on presale on March 4, with general sales commencing on March 6. Fans are advised to secure their tickets promptly, as these historic performances are expected to sell out quickly.
