Who will win the 67th Annual Grammy Award for best Reggae Album

Written by on January 16, 2020

Just a few more days left in voting for the 67th Grammy award-winning album of the year for Reggae music. Among the list of nominees are:

Koffee – (EP) Rapture
Julian Marley – As I am
Sly & Robbie & Roots Radics – The Final Battle: Sly & Robbie vs Roots Radics
Steel Pulse – Mass Manipulation
Third World – More work to be done

This years list of nominees features two dinosaurs that deserve to receive the honor of best Reggae album Steel Pulse, and Third World. Sly & Robbie teaming up with Roots Radics is historic. Will the Final Battle: Sly & Robbie vs Roots Radics be historic enough to win the selection is left to be seen. Then there’s the Marley factor that is always a option to win the grammy.

When it comes to the Grammy for best Reggae album the Marley’s are like the New England Patriots of the Reggae industry so don’t be surprised if Juju Marley is accepting that award come January 26th, 2020.

Then there’s the clear winner. If your a person that follows the latest happenings in the Reggae music industry you know that the clear winner is not always the actual winning selection. Based on the peoples response around the globe Koffee clearly was the hottest artist out of Jamaica in 2019. Even former United States President Baraka Obama had her music included in his playlist. She could possibly take the trophy home, but I think in this field of contenders she’s the long shot.

The grammy award for best Reggae album is not based on hype, it’s all about that professional level of who voted for who in the Academy. You can settle down and check out the 2020 Grammy Awards on January 26th which will be aired from Los Angeles.
