Nominees have been selected for the 40th International Reggae And World Music Awards

ReggaeVibeMedia.com – The nomination period for the 40th Anniversary of the International Reggae and World Music  Awards (IRAWMA) hosted by Martin’s International, is now officially closed.
 
Entertainment  media, and entertainment industry experts have made their selections and the nominations are in. 
 
The nomination period  ran from January 24, 2023, through March 1st, 2023. The public, and fans will be able to vote to select the winners commencing on March 06, 2023, and ending at midnight, April 15, 2023. 
 
The 40th IRAWMA Anniversary will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Kingston, Jamaica. Although a small number of VIP tickets will be made available to the general public, the organizers guarantee that it will be a glamorous red-carpet extravaganza designed specifically for television.
 
The categories and requirements for the nominations were described by Dr. Ephraim Martin, president of IRAWMA. “The content and songs released between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2022 should be the basis for the nominators’ judgments. The social importance of the contents, originality, sales, local and international performances, the caliber of performances, and stage appearance must all be taken into account while nominating. We are thrilled to announce that a special posthumous award will be given to the late Peter Tosh for his work in the global legalization of medical marijuana. Two new categories, Best EP Recording and Best IRAWMA Song, have been introduced to the categories for 2023.
 
This year, for the first time, IRAWMA is celebrating the best of two-years, 2021 and 2022, as last year’s ceremony had to be postponed. There will be about 40 nominees and Special Awards given in 38 categories. All nominees and voters are urged to subscribe to IRAWMA on YouTube before choosing a candidate or casting a ballot. The IRAWMA voting system will automatically reject any duplicate votes, therefore only one vote per individual will be accepted. 
 
Martin’s International will hold a press conference on Thursday, March 9 to announce the nominees for the 40th IRAWMA. Previous nominees, professionals from the music business, and corporate sponsors will all be present for the announcement of the nominees. 
 
The historic annual IRAWMA will be accessible in person for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The 38th and 39th IRAWMA events were virtually broadcast and televised on numerous national TV Stations during the pandemic.
