Mad Cobra freed on a $125,000 bond in South Carolina, facing a 30-year prison sentence

Following his arrest on drug and weapons possession allegations resulting from a traffic stop in Florence County, South Carolina, veteran Dancehall singer Mad Cobra has been freed on a $125,000 bail.
According to the Florence County Detention Center, the 55-year-old Jamaican artist, whose real identity is Ewart Everton Brown, received surety bonds of $5,000 on the allegation of possessing a weapon during a violent incident and $120,000 on the accusation of trafficking of cocaine (400G or more).
The Florence County Detention Center said that Cobra was “bonded out” on Wednesday (July 26), which indicates that he had obtained his release with collateral (property or a commitment to pay).
According to Florence County judicial records, he is due back in court on October 3.
