A RECORD SETTING ¾ of A MILLION VOTES CAST FOR 37TH IRAWMA

REGGAE’S BIGGEST MUSIC NIGHT! JAMAICA, MAY 11TH-BEST OF 2018!
Kingston, Jamaica, April 23, 2019: As the poll closed at midnight on Saturday, April 20 the vote count was overwhelming. 768,890 votes cast, with some fans voting in all 32 of competing categories for the 37thAnnual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) .
The 37th Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards will be held on Saturday, May 11th, Mother’s Day at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica.
More than 50% of the votes came from the continent of Africa primarily from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Congo and Uganda. Some of the nominees from Africa are in multiple categories or who will be in attendance including Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Diamond Platinum, Akothee, Top One Frissen and Fancy Gadam, among others.
“I am heartened by this overwhelming response and it’s a testament to how much love there is for reggae music worldwide” said Ephraim Martin, Founder and Executive Producer of IRAWMA.
