Written by on May 22, 2023

(ReggaeVibeMedia.com) – Dancehall artist Boom Dandimite, a former member of the Scare Dem crew, reportedly passed away this morning at a hospital in the US. The musician, Herman Stewart by birth, reportedly experienced a relapse while getting better after a vehicle accident.

The artist was hospitalized at Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) following an automobile accident that occurred in late April of this year. Wilful Skilful, another artist, was also involved in the incident on Half Way Tree Road. Boom Dandimite was released days after the crash, while Wilful Skilful was released shortly after.

Dandimite, who was created in the 1990s, was a part of the Scare Dem team alongside Elephant Man, Nitty Kutchie, and Harry Toddler. Bounty Killer assisted in their ascent to prominence by taking them on tours to promote them and provide them exposure to the Dancehall scene. The group became well-known after that and released songs like Girls Everyday and Many Many.

A recuperating Dandimite, according to information obtained by Dancehall Mag, flew to the United States yesterday, but when he got off the plane, he passed out. He began foaming at the mouth and was transported to the hospital, but he subsequently died.

Additionally, the source stated, β€œThe US doctors say he had blood clots, all sorts of complications, he had pneumonia, and the doctors also said that a lot of his medical issues were ignored wherever he was being treated in Jamaica.”

Wilful Skilful said that he had learned of Boom Dandimite’s passing through Bounty Killer, who had informed him that Boom had gone to the US only to awaken the next morning to phone calls informing him of his passing.
