Written by adminVibe on September 5, 2025
(ReggaeVibeMedia.com) – Reggae standout Jesse Royal is back on his feet and officially cleared to travel following a serious car crash that shook the reggae world. In a heartfelt video shared on his social media, the “Small Axe” singer announced that his doctor has given him the green light to resume travel and performances. He looked energized and deeply grateful, conveying his eagerness to reconnect with fans after weeks of recovery. The accident forced the cancellation of several appearances, including his anticipated Carifesta XV performance. While he recovers, Jesse released his long-gestating album No Place Like Home, citing the crash and healing process as the catalyst for finally dropping it.
The crash occurred on Saturday, August 23, leaving Jesse with a broken arm that required surgery the next day at the University Hospital of the West Indies. Thankfully, no other vehicles were involved, and though his car suffered extensive damage, Jesse walked away with his life—and perspective—intact. His wife Kandi King shared that he is in good spirits and deeply appreciative of the medical team, first responders, and loved ones whose swift actions and support made his recovery possible.
Despite the scare, Jesse has not postponed any upcoming shows—his team is carefully balancing rest and performance, with his health as the top priority. The release of No Place Like Home on August 29 emerges as an artistic testament to his resilience, reflecting a newfound appreciation for life and the creative urgency born from adversity.
We were supposed to catch up with Jesse Royal at SOB’s in New York but plans were changed due to the unfortunate circumstances. We are currently waiting on official conformation to connect with Jesse Royal for the Atlantic City Show alongside Buju Banton so keep it locked. Big up JDP Promotions while I’m at it. Dave Bless Up!
