Konshens and DJ Maphorisa to Headline Vibe Republic's Maiden Edition in Kampala on December 11

(ReggaeVibeMedia.com) - Dancehall is heading back to East Africa, and this time it is bringing a new sound-system partner: Jamaican star Konshens will headline the maiden edition of Vibe Republic at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala, Uganda, on Friday, December 11, 2026, alongside South African amapiano heavyweight DJ Maphorisa.

The event, presented by Explore Uganda, Talent Africa Group and Swangz Avenue under the theme "Together We Vibe," puts two of the biggest sounds in Black music on one stage, with Ugandan supporting acts still to be announced.

Organizers are positioning the night as a music-led tourism experience, inviting fans from Kenya, Tanzania and across the region to travel to Kampala for a celebration built around cultural exchange between the Caribbean and Africa.

For Konshens, the return trip is familiar ground. The singjay has performed in Uganda in 2012, 2013 and 2015 — the last time alongside Busy Signal — and came back to the same venue in 2023 for Blankets and Wine, building a deep connection with East African audiences along the way.

Vibe Republic's backers say the show is about more than one night. The maiden edition is framed as a catalyst to promote Uganda as an entertainment destination and to give homegrown artists a platform alongside visiting stars.
