Chronixx has called for AI-generated albums to compete in a separate Grammy category, declaring that "LLM and machine learning albums should be in a separate category" as the 2027 Grammy race heats up. In the same announcement, the reggae star revealed representation by Creative Artists Agency and upcoming Exile performances, positioning himself at the center of the industry's defining debate over artificial intelligence and human artistry.

(ReggaeVibeMedia.com) As the 2027 Grammy race heats up, Chronixx is drawing a line in the sand over artificial intelligence. The Grammy-nominated reggae singer has called for albums created with large language models and machine learning to compete in their own separate Grammy category, writing on Instagram: "LLM and machine learning albums should be in a separate category."

The statement lands in the middle of a growing industry debate. AI-generated reggae is already pulling massive numbers. Robert Lancaster's "Let Babylon Burn," cited in discussions of machine-made reggae, has reportedly passed 130 million YouTube views with millions of Spotify streams, raising hard questions about how digitally generated material competes for attention and awards alongside human performers. The Recording Academy already bars works with no human authorship from eligibility, but Chronixx is pushing for a clearer structural separation.

In the same post, Chronixx revealed he is now represented by Creative Artists Agency, one of the world's leading talent agencies, and told fans to get their "Exile concert outfit ready." His album Exile just won Reggae Album of the Year at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, and his first Exile acoustic performance is set for October 17 at the House of His Majesty in the UK. With first-round Grammy voting running October 12 through 22 and nominations announced November 16, the timing of his statement is no accident. The future of the music is being negotiated right now, and Chronixx wants reggae's voice in the room.
